“Jewelry makes people smile, remember special events and places, and feel good, beautiful, happy. I design jewelry with the goal of bringing joy and confidence to those who wear it.”

The story of 4sisters…
I love nature in every season; yes, even Winter! The colors: Spring’s vibrant greens and yellows; Summer’s glorious reds, purples, whites, more yellows and greens; Fall’s burnt orange, russet browns, golds, muted reds; Winter’s whites, blacks, shades of grays. When I’m not flower gardening-and I do garden in a big way—I make jewelry.
I moved to West Michigan in 2019 after retiring from my first career. I had the freedom of time and choice to find a new adventure, one that suited me and my talents. What were those talents? I didn’t have to search long; they found me. George Bernard Shaw said, “Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”
For many years I watched and helped my husband in his artistic arena, making constructions. One day while searching through bins of his collected treasures for a project, I found a small piece of hardware; what I saw wasn’t hardware; rather, the making of a beautiful pendant. That moment was all it took for me to start in the world of jewelry design, and of course, I love jewelry.
After months of study and experimentation, I was ready to start my journey as jewelry designer. The name “4sisters” comes from my love of family, and it forever joins me with those family members who are important in my life and who supply me with love and inspiration—my sisters.
I enjoy working with natural materials melding them with workable metals: copper, sterling, pewter and the like. I use my love of gardening to capture leaves, blossoms and other botanicals in resin which I often incorporate into my jewelry creations. The creative process provides me with much satisfaction, but when I see one of my necklaces, bracelets or ear rings on someone, I feel joy.
Jewelry makes people smile, remember special events and places, and feel good, beautiful, happy. I design jewelry with the goal of bringing joy and confidence to those who wear it.
I often draw inspiration from nature and the world around me. Occasionally, I also draw inspiration from my husband Dan's paintings!
